Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille, Fort Myers Beach, FL.
Doc Ford’s is another restaurant owned by HM group and under the bridge right before crossing over to Fort Myers Beach. I still need to check out Bonita, but my review for Dixie Fish Co. can be found by CLICKING HERE.
If you’re staying on or near the beach, this is definitely a place worth checking out. It is already on my list for future visits. The restaurant sits directly on the water, and both times I’ve been there, I’ve seen dolphins swimming right next to it.
Doc Ford’s is known for its Yucatan shrimp, so that is a must-try. On my next visit, however, I would like to branch out and try some other menu items beyond those listed below.
THE RATINGS:
Hand-Rolled Taquitos: 8/10
Heat Island Chicken Wings: 7/10
Grouper Sandwich: 6/10
Florida Stone Crab: 9/10 (These were great, but they were very expensive.)
Yucatan Shrimp: 9/10 (Still great, but 5 years ago, these were a 10. I’m convinced the sauce changed even though they said it hasn’t.)
