The 40th Annual Spring Fling, Danville, PA.

A beautiful day this year for a spring fling and it keeps getting better every year. There were a lot of new food vendors and we did end up losing some from previous years. I really missed El Puerto de las Empanadas, but that’s okay, there were tons of offerings this year.

THE RATINGS:

  • Unicorn Concessions-

    • Strawberry Shortcake Sundae: 10/10. The best.

  • Famous Fries-

    • Garlic Parm Fries: 6/10

  • MK Bubble Drinks-

    • Blue Razz Lemonade: 9/10

  • Mickey’s Shamrock Smash-

    • Mickey’s Classic Oklahoma Smash: 8/10

    • Chili Cheese Fries: 9.5/10. Second best I’ve had. The best were at Battlefield Fries in Gettysburg, but they’re no longer around, so these might be the best I’ve had. The peanut oil is one of the things that sets them above everyone else.

  • Moyer’s Bar-B-Q-

    • Slider Sampler: Overall 8/10. I’d personally bump the chicken up to a 8.5/10

  • Lonczynski's Homemade Foods-

    • Potato Pancakes: 9/10. Not as greasy as the fair and more fluffy. I don’t know which I like better.

  • Yakisoba’s Noodles and Teriyaki-

    • Teriyaki Chicken Yakisoba Noodles: 9/10. This is a family from New York State so we don’t really see them too much in the area, but if you do, definitely give it a try. This stand is a must and the Pork Teriyaki Yakisoba Noodles are a 10/10

  • Beer Belly BBQ-

    • Little Smash Burger: 8.5/10

    • Brisket Cheesesteak: 5/10

    • Hot Wings: 2/10. I know they were cooked, but the texture was like eating raw chicken and the sauce wasn’t good.

What I can say about Beer Belly is that their pulled pork and smoked cuban are out of this world and are probably the best in the area in my opinion and I’m sure the other times are good too, just skip the wings and cheesesteak.

  • J & M Concessions-

    • Hot Sausage: 6.5/10. This is usually a 9, but it seemed off this year. This is one of the better stands in the area and their fries are top notch. Too much Anise.
